Get a free IoT/Device Passport

A persistent, canonical ECZ-ID for your iot/device — a public identity that resolves live, with a badge, a QR code and a Publish Kit. One sign-in. Nothing to pay.

  • It records that your iot/device exists and that your organisation claims it.
  • It is self-declared. It does not say it is verified, assured, safe or approved.
  • It is not a credential and it is not for sale.
  • A new mac_address is not a new Passport.

We never issue a Passport without you asking.

What you get, free

Free · Permanent · No card

Included free

  • A permanent ECZ-ID for this device
  • A live public Resolver page
  • A canonical machine-readable record
  • A website badge and a QR code
  • Publish Kit for a device-label QR and your fleet manifest
  • 25 actively managed devices included for your organisation
  • Manage from your ECZ-ID account

One device, one Passport

For example, each smart meter in a fleet has its own Passport; a firmware update, a new IP address or a new gateway is not a new one.

A new MAC address, IP address, firmware version, gateway or hub registration is not a new Passport.

What will be published

  • A public Resolver page at resolver.ecocitizenz.org/p/<your ECZ-ID>
  • A machine-readable record at api.ecocitizenz.com/api/p/<your ECZ-ID>.json
  • A badge and a QR code that open that live page
  • Nothing is published until you confirm it.

Build on this Passport

Your free Passport is complete as it is. When you need more, these are made for this family — each is separate, and none is included free unless it says so.

These name no Passport family: each applies across every Passport your organisation operates.

A Passport identifies its subject. It is self-declared, and it does not make anything safe, secure, compliant or certified. Anyone relying on it re-checks the live record at the Resolver.
